Different organizations like Avon, Susan G Komen, American Cancer Society and Revlon do fun runs or walkathon to raise funds so they can help people who had been touched by cancer and illnesses that can cause death.
These people sell “Pink Merchandises” like bracelets, mags, baller, necklaces that can serve as souvenirs and representation that they took part in fighting death cause illnesses.

I woke up yesterday and it was raining hard. I have a commitment with my sister and cousin. My cousin wants to go in Meralco Ave. where the Candy Fair had its venue. I told them I don’t want to leave because of the rain..but to avoid upsetting them we made our way to the event.
15 minutes later, after we left our house, it was really raining hard. We were really soaking wet when we got up the bus. The traffic is quite heavy at first but when we arrived at the intersection area of MRT the vehicles are not really moving. After 30 minutes I decided to come back to avoid future problems. We were really far from the venue and I don’t want to be stuck in traffic. We used the overpass and I was really scared because I can feel the wind pushing my body off the overpass. I was praying so hard that nothing will happen to us. Thanks God we made it down. So we walk to find C.R but all we saw are flood and people with no slippers walking and passing.
I looked for a taxi but all of them are occupied. Thanks God again there’s one who stopped. He said we will not go any further if there’s a big flood. But because he is kind he still dropped us in MOA even though his taxi’s at risk.
Knowing there’s a van from MOA to Dasma, we three still managed to eat and wander around the mall. When our mother called me I decided to come back home. We were in terminal when the drivers said that there’s no vehicle passing through Coastal because of flood starting from Bacoor forward. I wasn’t worried that time because I still believed that when the rain stop vehicles will be free to pass the road. But it doesn’t happen and it’s getting late so we decided to walk. The rain is really hard and our umbrella’s were already ruined by the rain and wind. There are lot of people walking and it’s like we were in a walking marathon. There’s almost no vehicles going to Cavite and the road in the left side is clear. But the road going to Manila is packed with vehicles almost not moving.
We reached Coastal road and we were really wet. I borrowed my sister’s phone because mine was drained. I saw a man looking at my sister’s cp and I immediately looked at him as hard as I can and he went away.
There’s a truck who stopped and the people ride up so they can pass the Coastal road. My sister wants to ride but I told her not to because it’s not safe..the truck is open and there’s no handle around.
We have two resort that time..one is to check in to nearest hotels and the other one is to go to our cousin’s place which is near in Coastal and stay there. So we did the second choice. We walk through our cousin’s place but unfortunately she’s not there and her phone is out of coverage. So we off to the first choice even though we don’t have money. We ate first before walking again and after we decided to ride a sidecar that will drop us to the nearest hotels. But unfortunately all the hotels/motels we came in were out of rooms.
Upon walking again, we saw buses stranded on the road and thanks God they are all going to Trece and Indang. We were on the bus for almost 6 1/2 hours. I don’t smell good at all and I am still wet. We patiently wait and I calmed myself even though I’m starting not to feel good. I am really sleepy but I can’t sleep. My skin is really itchy and I saw small rashes around my arms. I am praying almost every minute. I just want us to come back home and rest. We were really tired. And finally, thanks to God, we were home at last around 5am.
This morning there are lot of news around about people who are victims of Typhoon Ondoy. I feel lucky because what we experienced yesterday is just nothing compared to those who are trapped in the middle of flood with no food, clothes and anything. And we were very much lucky because no one was hurt yesterday.
Please let us pray to those who are still in deep danger and needs help until now. And also pray to those who died in flood and landslides.
This is just another reminder to us to take care of our Mother Earth. This is due to our own lacking and wrong doings. There’s no flood if there’s no garbage around. There’s no flood and landslides if there’s still trees and plants that will support the land. This is all our fault.

“I can make it through the typhoon“
ciao!
